San Francisco Pride’s Grand Marshals are the public emissaries of Pride. They represent a mix of individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the LGBT community. With the help of community input, Pride selects these groups and individuals as Grand Marshals in order to honor the work they have put into furthering the causes of LGBT people. Grand Marshals are organized into three major categories: Community Grand Marshals, the Celebrity Grand Marshal, and the Lifetime Achievement Grand Marshal.

WHO & WHAT: Showtime’s hit dramatic series THE L WORD, which recently added Oscar® winner Marlee Matlin to its cast welcomes yet another acclaimed actress to the fold for its 4th season -- Cybill Shepherd ("Moonlighting," "Cybill," "The Last Picture Show,""The Heartbreak Kid," "Texasville," "Taxi Driver," "At Long Last Love"). Ms. Shepherd will portray a married woman with two grown children who suddenly begins questioning her sexuality. She will appear in 11 episodes, starring as an Executive Vice Chancellor of the fictional California University and boss to Jennifer Beals’ character Bette Porter. THE L WORD will premieres in January 2007.

Cybill Shepherd joining lesbian TV series

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Cybill Shepherd has joined the cast of Showtime's lesbian-themed drama "The L Word," which is about to begin its fourth season.

Shepherd will play the president of the college where Bette Porter (Jennifer Beals) attends graduate school -- a married mother who suddenly begins to question her sexuality. "L Word" marks the first major series commitment for Shepherd since "Cybill," the CBS comedy that ran from 1995-98.

She next appears in the indie "Open Window," which premiered at January's Sundance Film Festival.
