A Short Tribute..
This point in time calls for a fitting tribute to Dana Fairbanks , (played by the ever so talented and beautiful Erin Daniels on our favourite show ' The L Word ' ) , someone we all came to adore since the first season of the show began , one of the dynamic trio namely Dana , Alice and Shane who ruled the screen with their unique chemistry since their first scene on the show , winning the fans over and rightfully so .
Therefore we would like to invite all those out there who have loved and adored Dana through an interesting and poignant journey that she has taken us through since the start of the show , to rightfully offer their tributes to her and express their love for this vibrant and loving woman .
Here is, words tribute from Erin Daniels Fans...
For three seasons, we watched as Dana Fairbanks grew from a self loathing, insecure, in the closet tennis player into a confident, happy woman who learned to face her fears and stood up for herself. She made us laugh and cry. We cheered for her, we rejoiced with her and at times, she made us want to pull clumps of our hair out in frustration. And for many, we saw a little of ourselves in her struggles and triumph.
It is unfortunate it has to end like this but I would like to thank Ilene for creating this character and especially to the wonderful Erin Daniels for bringing Dana to life.Ms Daniels is an amazingly talented and beautiful actress with a wonderful sense of humor who I know will go on to find success outside of this show. We wish her all the best and we'll be tuning into when Julie Reno, Bounty Hunter starts it's run and all her future projects.
The show will not be the same without you.

I had read all the spoilers, so I had an idea of what was to come with Dan's storyline this year. But even knowing did nothing to diminish the power of it. And for that I say thank you to only one woman, Erin Daniels. I can't imagine being put in the position where you know your character is going to die and yet, she still produced one of the most powerful series of performances I have seen in a long time.
From the beginning of season 1 of this show, Dana (and her relationship with Alice) was what caught my attention. I had dealt with some of the same issues this character dealt with about coming out and could understand her fear and her uncertainty. This was a character I could really relate to. I was thrilled in season 2 when the show actually brought Dana and Alice together as a couple. I so hoped that this would finally be the long term couple on the show and we would be treated to such wonderful chemistry.
Then season 3, the rumors of a breakup and cancer. While I hated that the couple broke up with no real reason given, I was pleased that Dana's last words were, "I love you" to Alice. Alice knows that Dana loved her and while I am not happy that Dana is gone, at least to me, it ended with both of them secure in that love.
I am truly and deeply saddened that Illene Chaiken felt it necessary to kill Dana. To me, a much more courageous storyline would have been bringing Dana and Alice back together and having them face the changes that happen with cancer: Dana facing a new career and the two of them working through their issues, but sadly, this is not to be.
As for Erin Daniels performances from day 1 of season 1, but particularly this year……bravo!!!!!! The only thing I want to add is that I wish there had been more screen time to follow this story. It seemed to get squeezed into an overly busy season. Erin and Leisha gave it all for the storyline and for that I thank them both.

Thanks Layla for the wonderful tribute and also thanks sky for helping us today...
This is a nice tribute indeed. Thanks a lot :) [although I f*cking hate the storyline...] I'm gonna miss Dana :(
Yep, nice tribute there! But really, I can't stop thinking this was just a huge publicity stunt. IC had a wonderful opportunity to make Dana's storyline inspiring and full of hope for other women, but nooo!!!! Bring on the drama, we need more rating$$$!!! And that PSA... Now I'm sure the writters feel much better about themselves! Did Ilene seriously figured we'd be satisfied with those crapy ''explanations''? Cuz hem... yeah... they were really crappy!! They didn't explain sh*t! At least, the cast did a great job. They obviously weren't okay with IC decisions and they still nailed it. I'm pissed and I don't agree with any of that bs. Kate's right, Erin's been part of the team since day one. She's an essential player! It's just never going to be the same. The ''gang'' won't never be whole again. And... that sucks. Right?
...never going to be the same again without dana/erin.
Bravo!!!

i really love dana since the start of the show. its just so wonderful seeing her and alice together.. so sad that ilene have to kill dana out of the show, there's so many things that she could have done other than that to make the character of dana, cause the fact that dana is doing great with the show is awesome and i don't see any reason at all for her to be out of it. she's part of l word why people loves watching and going crazy over it. it will never be the same without dana.. so sad:) for dana, you did very well! i'll definitely gonna miss you =(
one more thing, you're so pretty dana! omg, just can't believe i will never gonna see you again in the show. =(
greetings from a fan in the philippines!
