Jennifer Beals and Ilene Chaiken, longtime supporters of the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, looked fabulous for the organization's 19th Annual Media Awards this past Saturday night. OurChart.com caught up with them on the red carpet outside the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. We also spoke with Rufus Wainwright and Janet Jackson—the evening's big honorees. Here's a peek at all the buzz as people were making their grand entrance to the show.

Mia Kirshner - Miss Conception

Georgina Scott (Heather Graham) is a broody 33 year-old, who sends her boyfriend, Zak, (Tom Ellis) packing when it has become apparent that he doesn’t share her desire for a bundle of joy. Zak sets off on a documentary shoot and hopes that she’ll cool off in his absence. But Georgina discovers that early menopause runs in her family and heads for a specialist with her reluctant best friend, Clem (Mia Kirshner, The L Word), in tow. Learning that her baby making days are numbered, Georgina enlists Clem and their camp pal, Justin (Orlando Seale), to make the most of it. A battle plan is drawn up but their escapades become increasingly frantic as Georgina explores internet sperm donors, night clubbers, a love struck co-worker and funeral-goers in her desperate and hilarious attempts to beat the biological clock.

Laurel Holloman adopts a baby girl

Laurel has finally revealed why she wasn't able to attend Starfury's L4 in March as planned. There was a lot of speculation that Laurel was pregnant, but we can confirm she wasn't although the rumours were along the right line. Laurel and her husband have in fact adopted a baby girl, a new sister for Lola. We send good wishes to Laurel and her newly enlarged family.

New York, April 28, 2008 — Bravo today announced the exclusive broadcast date for the 19th Annual GLAAD Media Awards. The gala awards show recognizing and honoring media for their fair, accurate and inclusive representation of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community and the issues that affect their lives will air on Friday, June 27 at 7 pm ET/PT.

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD), a national media advocacy and anti-defamation organization, has presented the GLAAD Media Awards annually since 1990. The broadcast on Bravo marks two historic milestones: the first televised airing of the celebration on a fully distributed national cable network, and the most widely broadcast gay-specific event in television history.

Leisha Hailey Is the New Face of Olivia

SAN FRANCISCO--Leisha Hailey, LGBT icon, cast member of Showtime’s “The L Word” and member of successful rock duo Uh Huh Her, strikes a new chord within the lesbian community as the new spokesperson for Olivia, the leading lesbian travel and entertainment company.

Hailey has signed a multi-faceted contract to be featured as the new face of Olivia in print advertisements, commercials and online media to begin this year. Olivia will also feature Hailey in some of its vacation and entertainment packages.

Ilene Chaiken redefines 'L Word'

"These girls are too pretty!"

"Where are the lesbians who look like me?"

"Where are the butches? This isn't realistic!"

These are the kind of questions lesbian viewers shot at producer Ilene Chaiken once "The L Word" had its debut on Showtime five years ago, and has been renewed for a sixth and final season. The explicit primetime show has always mined the stories of everyday lesbian life, but some people didn't find it so very everyday in the beginning.

Chaiken always defended her show's depiction of lesbians. "We seek to entertain just as much as any other show does," she says. "I wanted to make a television show about lesbians with the same values that are brought to any other really good TV show, which is to say, my characters are a little prettier."

Marlee returns to L word to tie up loose ends.

Marlee’s post-DWTS career will include more acting. She told OK! she might briefly return to the show The L Word, in which she played Jennifer Beals’ character’s girlfriend, just to tie up loose ends. Otherwise, she's, “I’m looking forward to jumping into another series and doing more features. I just hope that after DWTS that people know there's a lighter, funnier side of me and there's certainly no need to think ‘well, can Marlee do this?’ I think I've proven I can do pretty much anything. You've just got to be willing to listen."

Marlee Matlin eliminated from 'Dancing With The Stars'

LOS ANGELES - For the third consecutive week, a last-place finish has led to elimination on "Dancing With the Stars."

This week's celebrity casualty was Marlee Matlin, who came into Tuesday's results show with 21 out of 30 points. The actress lost her timing at various points during her mambo Monday with professional partner Fabian Sanchez, and the judges took note.

"You guys looked like you were forcing and struggling," said judge Carrie Ann Inaba, who noted that the mambo is more rhythm-dependent than other ballroom dances and she expected it to be most difficult for Matlin.

Marlee Matlin - Sweet Nothing In My Ear

Dan Miller (Jeff Daniels) and his wife Laure (Marlee Matlin) only want what's best for their happy and healthy eight years old son Adam (Noah Valencia), who's been deaf since age four. Laura opposes the surgery - an implant. Being deaf, she doesn't' consider it a disability and believes an operation, regardless of the outcome, would make Adam feel that something was wrong with him. However Dan, who can hear, misses talking and listening to his son. For him, an operation is worth the risk, believing Adam's life would be easier and more complete if he could hear.

Much to my mom's envy, I got to go to the taping of Dancing With the Stars last week. There was glitz and glamour and a lot more sequins that you'd ever find in my closet. It was amazing—very Hollywood, very different from the life I left in Brooklyn. I sat in the press room and watched everyone, mouths agape, bound by Marlee's performance.

Elizabeth Keener to Star in Crime Drama

Elizabeth Keener will star in a new hour-long dramatic series for Here TV about a lesbian FBI agent who is sent on an extended undercover assignment in a mysterious small town. Keener, who signed a development deal with the network, will have a hand in developing the show, according to a Here press release.

Keener most recently played Dawn Denbo on Showtime's The L Word.
