Mia Kirshner's First Book

Pantheon Books is honored to publish Mia Kirshner’s first book on October 14, 2008. A talented actor of the big and small screens, Mia makes her debut as an author with I LIVE HERE, a ‘paper documentary’ collaboration with graphic novelist Joe Sacco and graphic designers Paul Shoebridge and Michael Simons.

The result of seven years of travel, I LIVE HERE is a raw and intimate journey to crises in four corners of the world: war in Chechnya, ethnic cleansing in Burma, globalization in Mexico, and AIDS in Malawi. The voices we encounter are those of displaced women and children, told in their own words or by noted writers and artists, including Joe Sacco, Ann-Marie MacDonald, Phoebe Gloeckner, Chris Abani, and many others.
